Product Overview
Deepwriter is a next-generation AI research agent I led development on, designed to help organizations produce structured, reliable reports at scale. Traditional AI writing tools often generate inconsistent or shallow content, forcing teams to spend valuable time editing and validating results. Deepwriter solves this by using a scaffolded approach that ensures accuracy, logical flow, and adaptability for different domains — from academia to enterprise research.
API Development & Architecture
To support enterprise-scale adoption, I designed a RESTful API architecture using FastAPI and Python. The system uses asynchronous processing pipelines to handle thousands of concurrent research jobs, with endpoints for submission, tracking, and retrieval. Built-in authentication and rate limiting ensured security for external partners, while the modular design allowed businesses to integrate Deepwriter seamlessly into their workflows.
Kubernetes & Job Management
Scaling AI workloads was a core challenge. I implemented containerized deployment using Kubernetes on GCP, enabling orchestration of multi-stage research pipelines with dynamic scaling. Custom operators managed queues, resource allocation, and autoscaling, ensuring the platform could handle demand spikes while optimizing cost and reliability for enterprise customers.
Custom AI Tools & Agent Framework
A key innovation was building a modular agent framework with task-specific tools: custom research scrapers, citation validators, and synthesis engines. These could be chained dynamically, letting the AI adapt its workflow depending on the problem. This flexibility was critical for businesses with diverse needs — ensuring everything from technical whitepapers to creative outputs met a consistently high standard.
Skunkworks Projects
To showcase Deepwriter’s versatility, I built several proof-of-concept applications: an academic report generator to assist universities, a romance novel generator for creative industries, and a Google Trends analysis tool for market research. These experiments demonstrated the platform’s ability to adapt across domains while solving real user pain points — a major step in proving Deepwriter’s value as more than just a writing assistant.
